In compliance with the instructions of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty contained in your letter of the 11th August, M.No 339

I have the honor to report that I have directed the Senior Officer at Hong Kong, to place himself in communication with the Governor of that Colony with a view of concerting with H.E. the measures that may be necessary for the suppression of piracy in those waters, & to arrange with the Secretary of the Admiralty
